It’s a……

On September 13 we had a level 2 ultrasound and echo cardiogram to make sure everything was going well. During that exam we were also able to determine the gender of the little tapeworm in Heather’s belly.

Everything is going well so far and Heather is actually measuring about a week ahead of schedule. Her targeted due date is January 21, but we’ll most likely have her scheduled C-Section a week or so before that.

Heather did it, now Savannah’s done it

When Heather was a little girl, her grandparents took her to the Choo Choo Restaurant in Des Plaines for lunch. This past weekend we hopped on the Metra in Cary and went for a ride into Des Plaines for some lunch at the Choo Choo.

Savannah had a blast on the train ride and had even more fun at the restaurant. The Choo Choo restaurant has a Lionel train that goes around the diner table that delivers your food. Being a sucker for model trains myself, I thought it was pretty cool to see the train going around the restaurant deliverying peoples food to them. Of course Savannah had to have a cupcake with train whistle delivered to her after eating her lunch.

Big steps for our big girl!

There’s been some big changes in our house the past couple weeks. In anticipation of the new little one coming along, we’ve begun the process of moving Savannah from her original room (the nursery) and into her big girl room (the old office).

To make this transition as easy as possible, we’ve included Savannah in every step of the process. We made sure she was with us when we picked out her big girl furniture, she helped daddy paint her new room, and she helped me put together her furniture as well. I think getting her involved as much as we have has helped her be energetic with all the change going on.

In no way are we all the way there yet, but so far things are going well. Savannah has been sleeping in her bed since Sunday afternoon for her nap. We’re being very supportive and have printed up several charts on the fridge (potty & big girl bed). Savannah loves putting stickers on her charts when she goes on the potty and when she naps/sleeps in her bed. We know there will be set backs, but we’re really being supportive and energetic through everything and so far so good.

It’s sad to see her growing up into a little girl, but yet everyday she’s learning, doing, saying something new and make us look forward to the next day, yet always looking back and remembering every experience.
