Oh Dear Lord…she’s mobile!

September 14th, 2005

Well kinda. Over the past few days Savannah has shown us that she is tired of laying around and waiting for us to move her. She’s taken it upon herself to start rolling over onto her tummy! At first she could only roll to the right, but after a couple days she was able to go to her left as well. Of course, once she got onto her belly, she didn’t know what to do, so she would get pissed off and start crying. As of yesterday morning, she has proven to us that she’s not a one trick pony and she can now roll (with just a little bit of help) from her tummy back onto her back!

She’s getting really good at holding her head up off the carpet when she is on her tummy (see picture above). We also picked up an exersaucer thingy this past weekend to give her something else to try and occupy her. Right now she’s still a little over stimulated when she’s in it, so we’ve taken out a bunch of the toys that came with it. Don’t want her to freak out all the time. She loves being able to spin around and grab everything in her saucer. Mom & dad love it because she’s happy and we don’t have to constantly carry her around to keep her happy.

Heather also called me yesterday from work to say that Savannah is working on sitting up on her own now. We really have to make sure we strap her into her swing and bouncy seats now as she’s starting to use her tummy muscles and pull herself upright. It’s amazing how they go from just laying there to somewhat mobile.
